EcoComfort Solutions, Inc. (“EcoComfort Solutions,” “we,” “us”) provides heating and cooling services and works with homeowners and home warranty customers in Los Angeles, the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita, Valencia and surrounding areas. This policy explains what information we collect through https://ecocomfortsolutions.com (the “Site”), how we use it and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you use our service request, home warranty request or contact forms, we collect what you enter, which can include:
- Your name, phone number and email address
- Your service address and ZIP code
- A description of your heating or cooling problem and preferred times
- Your home warranty company’s name and your claim or authorization number, if you give them
- Files you choose to upload with a warranty request, such as photos or claim paperwork
Please upload only what is needed for your request. Do not send payment card numbers, Social Security numbers or other sensitive documents through our forms.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our systems and our service providers may collect your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the page that referred you and the time of your visit. Our forms also record the marketing details of your visit, such as the campaign link you came from and the page you landed on, so we know which of our ads and listings brought you to us. We do not send your name, phone number, email or address to our analytics tools.
Calls. If you call us, we collect the phone number you call from and what you tell us.
Cookies and similar technologies
When you first visit, a banner asks you to Accept or Decline analytics cookies.
- Necessary. We save your cookie choice in a small cookie called eco_consent for about 6 months, so we do not ask you again on every page. We also keep short-lived data in your browser during your visit, such as which campaign link you arrived from, so a form you submit can include it.
- Analytics. If you Accept, we load Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics 4 . These tools use cookies and similar technologies to show us how visitors use the Site, for example which pages are popular and where people leave. If you Decline, these tools do not load.
You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. We treat the Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a Decline.
Services we use that may receive your information
- Fonts. The Site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
- Maps. Some pages show a Google Maps map. Loading it shares your IP address and browser details with Google.
- Email and hosting. Your form submissions are stored on our website and sent to us by email. Our hosting provider SiteGround and email provider Microsoft process this information for us.
- Analytics. The tools listed above, only if you Accept cookies.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Respond to your request, schedule and perform service, and follow up
- Work with your home warranty company on your claim when you ask us to, or when your warranty company assigns the job to us
- Operate, secure and improve the Site, and understand which pages and campaigns work
- Prevent spam and misuse of our forms
- Meet legal, tax and insurance obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for targeted advertising on other websites.
Who we share information with
We share information only as needed to run our business:
- Your home warranty company, when your job comes through a warranty claim, so they can approve, schedule and pay for the work
- Service providers who help us operate the Site, store data, send email and run analytics, under their own privacy terms
- Professionals and authorities, such as our insurers, accountants or legal advisors, or when the law requires it
- A buyer if our business is sold or merged, with the same protections
Files you upload
Files you attach to a warranty request are stored in a private folder on our server, not in a public gallery, and are used only to handle your request.
How long we keep information
- Form submissions and service requests: 3 years or longer if we need them for an open job, a warranty claim, taxes or legal reasons
- Uploaded files: 12 months after the job closes or the request is closed, or longer if a warranty company or the law requires it.
- Analytics data: 14 months
- Your cookie choice: about 6 months
After that we delete or de-identify the information.
Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we collected about you, where it came from, why we use it and who we share it with
- Give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Delete personal information we collected from you, with some exceptions (for example, information we must keep for tax, legal or warranty records)
- Correct information that is wrong
- Limit or opt out of the sharing of your information for advertising. We do not sell your information.
We will not treat you unfairly for using these rights. To make a request, email [privacy email] or call [phone]. We may need to confirm it is you before we act. You can also ask an authorized agent to make the request for you. We aim to respond within 45 days.
In the past 12 months, we have collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (name, address, email, phone, IP address); customer records (information you give on forms); internet activity (pages viewed, referral source); and commercial information (the service you requested). [Have your attorney confirm this list and the sentences above match what you do.]
